**Intern Associate**
**Broadreach Strategic Planning Inc**. is unique from other financial planning firms. We specialize in working with dentists at all stages of their careers, from students to associates to practice owners to retirees. Broadreach is looking for a motivated associate to join our team and work with young dentists and grads, under the training and supervision of both partners to grow and develop the associate’s skills, knowledge, and comfort working with medical professionals.
There is flexibility of working location however, you will be required to come to the Surrey office regularly especially in the first few months for training on location. The role will require frequent trips to UBC and other locations. If you are productive working from home and have an environment which suits this, this will be possible for part of the work week.
The Intern Associate position is a salaried 1-year period where Broadreach will train, develop, and assess your skill sets to work with medical professionals to stream into one of three roles:
- Client Relationship Manager o Primary focus servicing and engaging existing clients, administration
- Broadreach Associate o Primary focus would be in prospecting and sales to new and existing dental clients
- Future Expansion Branch Manager o Broadreach is planning to expand across Canada, position would be to run a satellite office
- To qualify for this position, you are required to have valid Canadian work authorization._
**Preferred Qualifications**
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite - especially Microsoft Excel (this is the underlying structure of our financial planning software),
- Strong organizational and listening skills
- The role involves constant interaction with clients in a professional and social environment.
- Detail-oriented and proactive personality with the ability to multitask
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team self-starter who takes initiative to problem solve and follows up to get things done
- Speaks politely and respectfully, with a smile and proper grammar to clients and colleagues alike
- A second language in addition to English would be an asset
**Job Summary**
As an intern associate you will work closely with the partners to develop your skills working with young medical professionals, to recognize and grow sales opportunities from existing dental clients, and deepen our connection to our clients. To be successful in this role, you'll need to make full use of your financial and technical communication skills, as well as be willing to learn new tips and tricks along the way.
Associates at Broadreach must be flexible with the hours needed, this industry is not 9-5. While most days are standard working hours, our clients may occasionally need to have in-person or online meetings in the evenings or weekends. The successful applicant will work with existing clients of Broadreach and participate in prospecting with the Broadreach partners, meeting and socializing with dentists at their various functions.
**Responsibilities may include**
- Attending UBC Dental Faculty functions, conferences, online presentations
- Assist with the preparation of planning and product recommendations
- Existing policy administration
- Meeting and working with insurance wholesalers, accountants, lawyers
- Meeting in person at the Surrey office
- Weekly and monthly reviews
- Attending Continuing Education conferences and ad hoc requests
- Continuing to grow within the industry
