The Pharmacy Assistant also works under the direct supervision of any Pharmacist on duty during the same shift. The Pharmacy Assistant must work to ensure that all technical and administrative aspects of prescription dispensing are in accordance with federal and provincial regulations, standards of practice, and store policies to enable the delivery of appropriate patient care and customer service. It is also the responsibility of the Pharmacy Assistant to understand the roles of the other pharmacy team members and contribute to a safe and productive work environment.

In addition to adhering to the policies for prescription dispensing, pharmacy services, patient care, and customer service, the Pharmacy Assistant must also abide by all other human resource and store policies and procedures. Other policies and procedures are contained in additional documents outside of this job description and must be signed along with this document.
