North Fraser Youth Day Treatment offers comprehensive mental health treatment and educational programming to youth and their families living in the communities of Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam, Port Moody, Belcarra, Anmore, Pitt Meadows, Maple Ridge, Burnaby and New Westminster. **The Role** The YDTP Child and Youth Mental Health Clinicians (CYMH Clinicians) play a vital role within the multi-disciplinary team. Collaborating with youth, families, child and youth care workers, psychiatrists, teachers, and educational assistants, CYMH Clinicians deliver a variety of mental health services to young people with complex needs. They also work closely with community services and supports to promote the overall well-being of youth. **Qualifications**: **Education and Experience Requirements** - **NOTE**: If your degree was obtained outside of Canada, you need to confirm it has been assessed for equivalency through the International Credential Evaluation Services (ICES). You must provide a basic report by the closing date of this posting to be considered. - Minimum of one (1) year full-time equivalent experience working with children and youth and their families, with responsibility for providing a wide range of community based mental health services. Must possess and maintain a valid class 5 BC Driver’s license with no restriction or equivalent (i.e. from another Canadian Province).Preference may be given to applicants with the following: - Two (2) years or more experience working with children and youth and their families, with responsibility for providing a wide range of community based mental health services with a focus on youth who experience complex mental health conditions including, but not limited to, psychotic disorders, emotional dysregulation, complex post traumatic distress, anxiety, depression, and suicidal behaviour. - Experience working with parents/caregivers and adolescents. - Experience providing Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) group and/or individual therapy to youth and the families who struggle with emotion dysregulation, high-risk behaviours and/or safety concerns. - Applicants who self-identify as First Nations, Métis or Inuit with the required combination of education and experience.
