**Job Summary**

This role is responsible for constructing, maintaining, and renovating residential and commercial structures. Key duties include reading blueprints, preparing layouts, and building foundations, walls, roofs, and floors. The Carpenter installs trim, doors, stairs, and hardware, and supervises apprentices and other workers. Additional tasks include preparing cost estimates, managing site traffic, and maintaining safety. Administrative duties involve tracking hours, mileage, inventory, and documentation. The Carpenter ensures efficient project completion while adhering to building codes and safety standards. Punctuality and dependability is a must for this position.

**Responsibilities**
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine specifications and calculate requirements.
- Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools.
- Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials.
- Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems.
- Fit and install trim items, such as doors, stairs, moulding and hardware.
- Maintain, repair and renovate residences and wooden structures in commercial buildings.
- Supervise apprentices and other construction workers such as labourers.
- May prepare cost estimates for clients.
- Direct traffic at or near construction sites.
- Responsible for tracking mileage, hours, inventory, documentation, participating in ToolBox discussions, and ensure information is submitted in a timely manner.
- Supervisor and mentor Carpenter Assistants.
- Perform other activities at construction sites, as directed.

**Job Requirements**
- Real Seal or equivalent required. 3 - 5 years experience required.
- Must have own reliable transportation.
- Trinity specific on-the-job training may be provided.
- Must have awareness of and experience with technologies such as laptops, iPads and cellphones. Carpenters use various programs and systems on a regular basis.

Pay: $25.00-$35.00 per hour
