About the team you are joining
Reporting to IATA's Director of Aviation Security & Cyber, as part of a small team, you will serve as the primary focal point for IATA efforts and engagements to improve the design, delivery, adoption, and recognition of SeMS principles, practices, and operations, across the wider aviation community. Key to this is the design and operationalized / commercialized delivery of the IATA SeMS Assessment program, supported by the creation and advancement of associated publications, policies, standards and regulations for wider internal/external adoption and recognition on a global scale. In addition, ad hoc provision for additional secretariat support in the delivery of additional responsibilities in aviation security, air cargo security, and emergency response planning.
What your day would be like
Risk Management: collaborate with industry partners and regulators to develop SeMS principles and practices that enable airlines and other entities to manage and mitigate risk.
Resilience and Trust: develop SeMS metrics, standards, methodologies with industry partners and regulatory bodies to build a trusted framework.Advocacy: represent IATA, promote, and educate on the SeMS debate, striving to find mutual agreement and promoting SeMS standards and potential certification options.Communication and Reporting: develop internal and external systems to effectively present and negotiate SeMS activities and improve IATA's influence on the wider adoption of SeMS.Development of a SeMS Assessment concepts: use stakeholder relationships to gain wider agreement on how SeMS practitioners can capture, present, and evaluate their activities, deliverables, and achievements.Personnel: collaborate with key industry partners to develop materials and activities that help the aviation sector to realize the benefits of SeMS.Leadership: provide clear leadership within IATA on SeMS evaluation/certification principles, manage changes within the SeMS environment, and identify opportunities for potential income streams.
-Stakeholder Engagement: ensure IATA maintains strategic relationships within relevant SeMS forums to deliver the SeMS Assessment strategy effectively.
- Meeting Management: chair and manage all SeMS Assessment project meetings and associated events, seeking to expand internationally recognised best practice.
- Event Delivery: ensure the delivery of at least one significant international SeMS event per year to advocate and educate about SeMS principles and develop internationally recognised best practices.
- Support the technical delivery of additional IATA secretariat functions in the provision of aviation security, air cargo security and emergency response planning.

A minimum of 15 years experience in a senior role within industry or Government, primarily focused on aviation security management and delivery in a policy, regulation, compliance, or capacity development role and/or generate recommended best practice across industry or regulatory operations, systems, and processes
Demonstrated leadership skills in a high pressure, multicultural and international environment - the ability to interact with and/or lead personnel/tasks via remote engagementThe ability to build, maintain and as applicable effectively leverage a wide and diverse network of aviation security individuals, within policy, regulatory and operational entities, and communities, who may be called upon to educate, support and/or assist in delivering IATAs strategic and tactical SeMS objectives

Travel Required: Y-20%
