At Parkland Food Bank (PFB), our purpose is to make healthy food accessible to residents of Spruce Grove, Stony Plain and Parkland County. PFB is currently the fifth largest food bank in Alberta and is preparing for continued growth in both client usage and facility over the next three years.

Our focus is centered around the principle of being attentive to the needs of clients and adjusting our processes and approaches with them in mind. PFB depends heavily on local community support in meeting the needs of our clients. As such we look to engage our community through supporting, engaging, and creating rewarding volunteer opportunities.

With the support of our volunteer workforce, PFB annually receives almost $4 million dollars’ (700,000 kgs) worth of donated food to distribute through our hamper and food hub programs.

**Job Duties**

We are currently seeking a **Warehouse Supervisor** to join our team. This is a **part-time** position based out of Spruce Grove, Alberta.

The Warehouse Supervisor will work within a warehouse team to directly oversee and work alongside volunteers, helping them complete warehouse duties and responsibilities. This position is synergistic with a supervisor counterpart and will require strong communication skills and the ability to co-ordinate with team members. The supervisors will ensure the completion of daily tasks and productivity of the warehouse including receiving, inventory, and distribution to clients. The supervisors will be the first line of contact for volunteers who have questions or concerns, provide hands-on direction and guidance, train new volunteers on procedures and coach existing volunteers on new tasks and responsibilities.

**Primary duties**:

- Ensure the safe and efficient receipt of product, within the limitations of the equipment and resources available.
- Supervise the stocking of food products.
- Coordinate allocations, including distribution to clients and through our food hub.
- Maintain an organized warehouse while promoting a sanitary and safe work environment.
- Any other duties as required.

**Qualifications**
- Ability to manage, coach, and provide training.
- Strong collaborator.
- Thorough and pays attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize duties and effectively navigate a fast-moving environment.
- Understanding of food safety an asset.
- Understanding of warehouse safety and basic OH&S an asset.

**Education and Experience**
- To be successful in the role, you will have at least 2-3 years of work experience in a supervisory capacity.
- You must have a high school diploma.
- Post-secondary diploma/degree will be an asset.
- Food Safety Certification
- Warehouse Safety Certifications

**Working Conditions**

Standing for long periods of time.

Can lift 30-40lb regularly.

**Shifts **(as currently planned)**:

- **Wednesday 3:30pm-9pm**
- **Thursday 9am-5pm**
- **Friday 9am-5pm**
- **Saturday 8am-1pm**

Hourly Rate: $21.00/hour.
