Key Accountabilities

Total Rewards Strategy- Establishes annual survey completion strategy to ensure participation in relevant surveys to drive most value for the company.- Participates in the incentive pay (Salary Holdback Plan) planning process and maintains related spreadsheets for quarterly reporting.- Leads team in the SHP and/or Merit payout process. Provides guidance to team on analysis, reviews work for accuracy, approves recommendations, and prepares payout board items.- Conducts research and analysis in the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of total rewards programs and strategies and the employee value proposition.- Conducts or reviews complex internal equity reviews for salary adjustments and ensures accurate interpretation of external data.- Supports transition to automate compensation processes within the Workday system.- Builds and maintains relationships with local and industry peers and leverages relationships to inform compensation decisions.- Supports ongoing research and analysis to inform design changes of group benefit programs.- Participates in the annual review, analysis, and renewal of the group benefit program. Formulates recommendations for presentation to VP and executive.- Supports Director in actively managing the health of the group benefits plans, monitoring financials, and ensuring providers are working within service level agreements.- Works with Director and other HR management on resolving service, design, or coverage issues.
Compensation Leadership and Administration- Oversees and provides expertise in the completion of external and internal salary surveys related to compensation. Reviews surveys prior to submission.- Oversees the analysis of data from multiple survey sources used to determine market rates and external pay competitiveness and ensures guidelines, best practices and philosophy is followed.- Conducts research or reviews and makes recommendations on compensation structures and programs.- Conducts research, analysis and recommendation of new programs and policies related to compensation matters and provides input into information and decision items for ELT, the HR Governance Committee and the Board of Directors as required.- Discusses complex matters or obstacles relating to senior leadership compensation and recommends approaches, solutions and/or strategies to compensation.- Leads the identification and establishment of advancements to integrate compensation administration and practices within technology platform.- Stays current with industry compensation trends and identifies opportunities.- Works with Director to formulate strategies and approaches, calculate payment transitions and documentation to support respectful exit plans for out-of-scope employees.- Works with Payroll management to ensure compliance with policies, legislation, and administration prior to finalizing any supportive exit approaches.- Establishes and maintains guidelines for employment offers. Ensures adherence to policies and standards.- Provides guidance, expertise, and approvals if required, on complex Out-of-scope offer letters.
Budget, Reporting and Policy Support- Designs, develops, implements, and maintains key departmental metrics and related reporting.- Analyzes and interprets data and identifies opportunities for improvements and changes.- Creates, coordinates and/or reviews reporting for Finance, Executive Leadership Team and/or other related departments and agencies.- Supports Director in the HR Division budget process by supporting management in budget training, preparation, review, and submission. Prepares, manages, and reports on departmental and divisional budgets, including budget variance analysis.- Completes variance reporting for team and compiles required periodical reporting to management.- Responds to, completes, or ensures various complex government or CIC ad hoc, legislative and policy reporting submissions.- Consults with various HR units on matters that impact compensation or benefits. Provides data summary, costing and recommendations on approach (i.e., bargaining, government direction).- Maintains and coordinates the review of all HR policies. Collaborates with the appropriate areas to draft new or revised policies and coordinates review and approval process.
