**Salary Range: $115,000 - $125,000 per annum**
**Location: Entwistle, AB**
As the **Operations Superintendent**, you will serve as the Plant Manager’s right hand and will be responsible for overseeing Safety, Culture, Leadership, and Plant Operations. You will embody Drax's Mission, Vision, and Values, while ensuring the safe delivery and communication of all targets, budgets, and objectives to the plant team. Your role will contribute to fostering a team of high-performing and committed employees. Additionally, you will be tasked with maintaining a strong culture of teamwork, collaboration, and adherence to safety, respect, and operational policies at Drax.

**About the role**:
**Leadership & Management**
- ** **Champions the Drax Safety Program; providing leadership by encouraging and demonstrating a safe and healthy work environment, aligned with company policies and procedures.
- Works closely and collaboratively with the operations team to achieve operational efficiency.
- Demonstrates strong communication skills with Drax colleagues such as the reliability, technical, process, and automation teams.
- Leads employee development and training initiatives, including maintaining training compliance for equipment operation and safety standards.

**_Performance Management & Supervision_**
- **KPI Implementation**: Manage key performance indicators (KPIs) for production teams to drive performance and efficiency.
- ** Employee Engagement**: Coach, provide feedback, and build strong relationships with employees, while troubleshooting challenges and evaluating performance.
- ** Scheduling and Coverage**: Organize work schedules, review vacation requests, and ensure adequate coverage for operational tasks within the team.
- ** HR Collaboration**: Partner with site leadership and HR support recruitment, training, development, and performance standards, aligning efforts with organizational goals.

**_Operations_**
- **Safety Culture Advocate**: Lead by example in championing the Drax Safety Culture throughout all operations.
- ** Daily Operations Oversight**: Direct the day-to-day operations of the production department, focusing on safety, personnel management, and process efficiency.
- ** Collaborative Maintenance Planning**: Collaborate closely with the maintenance team to plan and execute preventative, short-term, and long-term projects.
- ** Cost Management**: Work proactively to minimize costs and uphold financial standards in collaboration with site leadership.
- ** Raw Fibre Management**: Work closely with Yard Supervisor to ensure adequate raw fibre inventory meets plant requirements and ensures proper fibre mix to maximize production and quality targets.

**About you**
You’ll possess the following skills, abilities and Experience required:

- Are you an accomplished safety leader with 3-5 years of progressive supervisory experience, ideally in Wood Products Manufacturing?
- Do you possess advanced proficiency in Microsoft Suite and navigating work order systems, along with managing employee management systems?
