Finance and Operations Manager Controller

Financial duties include:
- Prepare and post receipts, deposits, purchase orders, invoices, refunds, and other standard bookkeeping tasks
- Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable
- Prepare, track, and reconcile ledgers and budgets
- Prepare and submit payroll
- Develop and execute regular reporting systems to improve production and sales.
- Create financial and operational reports
- Identify opportunities and drive financial efficiencies
- Prepare and file company tax documents
- Identify and correct financial discrepancies
- Run and update databases
- Develop and streamline operational efficiencies - including logistics, production and inventory systems
- Stay up to date with all regulations, requirements and laws
- Identify and explore grant opportunities.
Administrative duties may include:
- Ensuring health and safety compliance / AODA
- Assisting in on boarding / exit interviews
- Compensation best practices / bench marking
- Assisting w/ job posting - contract development
- Ensuring record keeping and consistency of employee reviews, feedback
- Aiding and acting as point for employee grievances / human resources
- Develop and maintain administrative processes
- Keep an organized file system
Job requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or similar
- 3 years experience in an accounting, finance or operations role.
- Practical experience with financial model building including planning, forecasting and budgeting
- Knowledge of Xero Cloud Based Accounting an asset
- Able to quickly learn and adapt to new software and processes
- A solid understanding of bookkeeping procedures including crediting and debiting appropriate accounts, posting entries to ledger accounts, and reconciling accounts
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Works well in a team environment
- High level of critical thinking and logical analysis
- Good organizational and time management skills
- Always keeps the highest standards of compliance and confidentiality
