Accounting Department Manager

Capital Industrial Sales & Service Ltd is currently seeking an experienced Accounting Manager with either an Accounting Diploma or CPA designation with a strong work ethic and keen attention to detail. You will have the leadership skills necessary to oversee the accounting staff in all areas of financial reporting requirements, to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting to the ownership group. You will have excellent analytical and technical skills with a thorough knowledge of accounting principles. You will have a versatile and dynamic accounting background that allows you to undertake special projects and diversified accounting tasks.
We are a privately-owned Material Handling Equipment company and we have been serving customers across Western Canada for over 40 years. We have branches in Edmonton (Head Office), Red Deer, Calgary, Lethbridge, Regina, Saskatoon, and Winnipeg. All Accounting duties and responsibilities are handled from Head Office in Edmonton.
**Experience**:
- Accounting: 3-5 years (required)
- Management 2-3 years (required)
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Leading the accounting team and fostering a positive working relationship
- Preparing and reviewing financial statements
- Ensure monthly & quarterly inventory reconciliations completed
- Prepare and monitor recurring month end entries.
- Prepare weekly cash flow report.
- Ensure assigned financial reconciliations are complete and accurate before monthly reports
issued including bank, prepaid, and interbranch.
- Conduct monthly audit on sales order, purchase order and claims clearing review &
reconciliation.
- Preparation and review for annual financial audit.
- Prepare indirect quarterly tax reporting and review/follow up on any unusual variances. Ensure in compliance
- Ensure internal results reporting is complete and accurate.
**Requirements and Qualifications**:
- License/Certification as a Canadian Chartered Professional Accountant
- Strong leadership/supervisor skills to oversee activities of the other accounting staff
- Strong work ethic and keen attention to details
- Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
- Ability to prioritize workloads and the flexibility to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Self-motivated and driven to continuously improve and add value to the organization.
**Compensation**:

8:00 am - 4:30 pm)
