Regional Sector Leader, Mining - ( 220003ET ) **Description** At our core we are a community. Join us in assisting mining companies in getting mined materials to communities around the globe. **Your Opportunity** Reporting to the Sector Leader - Strategic Pursuits (SL), the Regional Sector Leader (RSL) Canada supports and drives top line growth throughout targeted geographies and Business Centers (BCs), alongside account managers, project delivery teams, and BC leadership. They are client and industry facing who are accountable for developing and meeting top line goals and targets. They serve as regional leaders to drive and promote sales collaboration bringing a wider sector focus to local, regional, national, and global clients while serving as advisors and strategic partners with BC leaders. The RSLs work collaboratively with BC leaders to identify and develop project opportunities, create win strategies through deep understanding of client needs/requirements, competition, and local drivers, and assist the BCs with building teams to deliver results and support anticipated growth. This position is based in Canada where Stantec has several offices supporting various Business Lines such as Environmental Services, Mining, Minerals and Metals, Water and Wastewater, Transportation, and Buildings. The RSL is required to stay educated on the condition of the marketplace and associated technologies, vendors, and change conditions. **Your Key Responsibilities** - Sustaining and growing sector revenue and sales within the region working collaboratively with the regional business centers, account teams, and project teams to achieve defined operational performance metrics - Contributing to the development and execution of the sector business strategy with accountability for region-specific strategies and priorities - Supporting local business development pursuits and coordinating a core team of professionals to achieve business development and financial goals - Coaching, mentoring, and developing a team of professionals dedicated to growing our Mining, Minerals and Metals business and further developing Stantec’s profile in the marketplace - Collaborating with counterpart regional and individual SLs throughout other business lines to leverage client and sector information as well as expertise across offices - Facilitating partnerships among integrated practice groups - Identifying, positioning, pursuing, and winning strategic pursuits that are vital to maintaining Stantec’s position as a leader in the mining, minerals and metals industry - Meeting HSSE goals and targets and personal utilization requirement (>20%) - Direct reports may include business development professionals and administrative support staff **Marketing and Business Development**: - Working collaboratively with the business line SLs, RBL, and the BC leaders in the region, support and drive regional business development pursuits including strategic proposal development for the sector and coordinating a core group of professionals to achieve business development and financial goals - Working with clients to create long-term relationships and delivering long-term value to clients for Stantec - Leading and coordinating business development efforts, including market research, client relationships, process development, developing leads/staff, and securing contracts - Developing and driving the sector marketing and regional business development (M&BD) plans, budgets, and key performance indicators in collaboration with the RBL and BC leadership - Developing, reviewing, and facilitating business approvals for proposals, reports, and contract documents in accordance with Stantec policy - Supporting Risk Management processes - Proposal development, including writing, PPT, DDR development as needed - Possessing effective negotiation skills to define contract terms - Developing and maintaining industry relationships and visibility with current and prospective clients, sub-consultants, competitor/teaming partners, and potential recruits - Proactively using, promoting, and managing the Stantec Pipeline for business development pursuits - Active involvement in Account Management, including development and coordination of BC Account Managers, and potential account leadership (sponsorship or management) of a key client - Championing and conducting client surveys to capture accurate feedback and develop action plans to share the positive results and take advantage of the opportunities for improvement across the business line - Keeping BC and business line leadership informed of potential issues that could negatively impact current or future business development effo
