We seek two dynamic individuals to fulfill temporary full-time roles in our vibrant ROM Hands-on Galleries. If you're passionate about culture, the arts, natural history, and science, this is an opportunity to inspire and engage visitors of all ages and backgrounds.

As part of our team, you'll provide friendly and resourceful assistance in our Hands-on Biodiversity, Schad Gallery, and WonderWorks exhibits. Your role will involve facilitating learning experiences through storytelling, showcasing the remarkable diversity and interconnectedness of plants and animals.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:
Facilitation
- Stay informed about evolving educational pedagogies, ensuring that gallery content, programming, and policies reflect current best practices.
- Conduct research and create innovative activities and resources to enhance visitor learning and engagement.

Volunteer Support and Training
- Guide volunteers in understanding and implementing effective educational pedagogies, showcasing exemplary facilitation techniques, outstanding customer service, and adherence to standard operating procedures.
- Foster volunteer growth by providing guidance, encouragement, and constructive feedback, thereby enhancing their knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- Create and implement activities and resources tailored to support volunteer learning and development, ensuring they are equipped to contribute meaningfully to the museum's mission.

Gallery Operations
- Adhere to established procedures for enforcing gallery policies, regulations, and guidelines, employing conflict resolution techniques when interacting with visitors, volunteers, and staff.
- Execute operational tasks as directed by the Gallery Coordinator or designated supervisor.
- Respond promptly to urgent situations, following established ROM protocols to ensure swift resolution.
- Handle artifacts, objects, specimens, and digital/audio/visual equipment with care and safety as a top priority.
- Offer educational and technical support to both internal and external partners as required, fostering collaborative relationships.
- Fulfill additional duties as assigned to contribute to the smooth operation of the gallery and museum.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Completion of less than two (2) years' post-secondary education in education, natural history, world cultures, or relevant fields, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- At least one (1) year of hands-on experience engaging children, youth, families, and volunteers in educational settings, showcasing a talent for interactive activities.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution abilities, coupled with sound judgment and a positive demeanor.
- Proven capacity to work both independently and collaboratively, adapting flexibly to dynamic environments as part of a cohesive team.
- Familiarity with digital, audio, and visual technologies in educational contexts.
- Fluency in French, orally, is considered advantageous.

**SCHEDULE: Up to 24 hours weekly**
