**About the Role**

**Key Responsibilities**
- Lead and supervise the mainline paving crew working on municipal, subdivision, commercial, and overlay projects
- Operate and oversee safe use of paving equipment, including paver, screed, and roller
- Ensure high quality asphalt laydown, meeting mat quality and compaction standards
- Coordinate daily production with the superintendent
- Complete required paperwork accurately each day
- Promote and maintain a strong safety culture, and ensure all crew members follow company and provincial safety procedures
- Train, mentor, and support crew members to maintain a positive, accountable team environment
- Identify and resolve field issues to maintain safe and efficient production
- Perform other related duties as assigned

**Required Skills and Experience**
- A minimum of five years experience in road construction
- A minimum of three years experience supervising paving crews
- Experience operating pavers, rollers, and screeds
- Strong understanding of asphalt paving processes, grades, slopes, and municipal paving standards
- Valid Class 5 drivers’ licence with a clean abstract
- Ability to work extended hours and weekends when required
- Strong communication skills and high attention to detail
- Ability to work in various weather conditions
- Strong problem-solving, critical-thinking, and conflict-resolution skills

**Additional Considerations**
- WHMIS, CSTS or RSTS, and First Aid
- Experience with City of Edmonton and Alberta Transportation specifications is an asset
- Google Suite (Docs and Sheets) experience is an asset

**Role Expectations**
- Occasional travel outside Edmonton may be required
- Must always maintain respectful and professional communication
- Must support a positive culture of accountability, teamwork, and safety
