Production Manager

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Production Manager to join our dynamic Facilities team in **Surrey, British Columbia.**

**Position**: Production Manager
**Location**: Surrey, British Columbia

**Position Overview**: As the **Production Manager**, you will play a vital role in ensuring smooth, efficient operations at our production facility. Reporting to the Regional Plant Manager, you’ll be responsible for overseeing daily production activities, managing labor, maintaining safety and quality standards, and leading a team of production staff to ensure the seamless execution of operations.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Lead Daily Operations**: Organize and manage labour requirements for each shift to ensure efficient production.
- **Ensure Compliance**: Oversee and verify all daily production records are completed accurately and that packaging meets required specifications.
- **Problem Resolution**: Report any production line issues promptly to the maintenance team for timely resolution.
- **Safety & Quality Assurance**: Ensure adherence to health, safety, and food safety policies and protocols.
- **Staff Development**: Mentor, train, and guide production staff and supervisors to foster growth and a high-performance team.
- **Track Quality**: Monitor the quality of fruit throughout the shift, ensuring all standards are met.
- **Inventory Management**: Manage the flow of raw materials through the production lines, ensuring FIFO (First In, First Out) practices are followed.
- **Waste Control**: Maintain accurate records of repack and waste numbers, completing all required reports daily.
- **Collaborative Communication**: Maintain open communication across all departments to ensure coordination and productivity.
- **Schedule Management**: Work closely with the Plant Manager to organize and adjust the daily production schedule as needed.
- **Food Safety Program**: Contribute to the ongoing development and maintenance of our Food Safety Program alongside the management team.
- **Facility Cleanliness**: Ensure general cleaning and maintenance tasks are completed to support a safe, clean work environment.

**Qualifications**:

- **Licenses**: FLT and Power Jack licenses are preferred.
- **Physical Stamina**: Must be physically fit and able to lift up to 50lbs as required.
- **Education**:Post-secondary education in Production/Inventory/Operations Management would be considered a great asset.

**Working Environment**:

- Must be flexible to work in shift rotations and on weekends as needed and be comfortable working in coolers for short periods.

**Physical & Psychological Demands**:

- **Strength Requirements**:Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
- **Motion**:The role involves sitting, driving, and walking.
- **Sensory Requirements**:Must be able to read Health & Safety signage and hear vehicle horns.
- **Mental Agility**:Strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle unexpected challenges in a fast-paced environment.
