Job description

**Job Summary**

An Employment Counsellor maintains a Job placement caseload and is responsible for supporting and aiding their clients in securing competitive employment; such as, providing workplace readiness training geared to the client's needs, networking and job searching, and continuously providing support to a client on and off-site once employment is secured

**Duties & Responsibilities**

**Job Development**
- Collect labour market information for clients regarding job openings, entry, and skill requirements and other vocational information
- Conduct employer outreach promoting program and services
- Make cold calls to potential employers explaining the benefits and employment support services provided to employers
- Provide follow-up support to employers, regular check-ins and provide the necessary support to the client and/or employer
- Liaise with the Job Development team and other social / community agencies on mutual clients as needed to facilitate clients' progress

**Job Coaching**
- Assist clients with onsite employment training and coaching
- Monitor, evaluate and assess clients' workplace abilities
- Support and monitor clients as they progress their Employment Plans
- Report on client progress and provide necessary supports to ensure a successful transition to employment

**Qualifications**:

- Completion of University in Social Work, Social Services or Psychology and/or Diploma in Social Services or equivalent work experience
- Sensitive to the barriers that persons with disabilities experience
- Familiar with return to work strategies, life skills and/or employment training
- Excellent written and verbal communication, sales and customer service skills
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Ability to work within a team environment and maintain a supportive and cooperative environment with colleagues
- Ability to work in a performance-based system, prioritize and work well under pressure
- Flexible work schedule
- Must be proficient in MS Office Applications, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Internet browsing
- Bilingualism is a must
- Must have access to reliable vehicle

**Salary**: $16.00-$18.00 per hour dependent on experience or education/qualifications

**Salary**: $15.00-$20.00 per hour
