**Function summary**

The Bruyère Research Institute (RI) partners with Bruyère Continuing Care (Bruyère), the University of Ottawa, and other stakeholders to conduct relevant and practical health sciences research related to improving the quality of life for the aging population and people requiring continuing care.
This job description is not exhaustive. Additional duties may be added as projects progress.

Research Support - 70%
- Assist with planning quantitative data analysis and data set creation plans.
- Perform basic descriptive quantitative analyses.
- Compile results from surveys, semi-structured interviews and focus groups
- Work with web developers to create interactive tools for patients and families
- Assist with knowledge translation activities, such as drafting abstracts, assist with manuscript writing, and assist with developing presentations for academic conferences
- Assist with literature reviews (scoping/systematic reviews)
- Work with research team members to ensure they are up to date on research activities, provide support and keep the project moving forward.

Administrative and Financial Research Support - 30%
- Coordinate meetings with team members, manage calendars, and book project meetings
- Draft meeting agendas, take meeting minutes
- Coordinate obtaining signatures for study departmental approvals, REB submissions, and research contracts
- Draft project and funding reports
- Perform basic financial tasks, such as submitting invoices and expense tracking against the project budget

Required Qualifications and Competencies:

- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant health science-related field
- Minimum 2 years relevant experience
- Evidence of quantitative research experience and expertise using quantitative analysis software
- Strong quantitative data analysis skill
- Curiosity about data and causation
- Strong critical thinking skills and creative problem-solving approach
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to work well independently and in a team environment
- Demonstrated excellent organizational, time management, and prioritization skills
- Demonstrated ability to meet timelines and deadlines

Additional Competencies (if applicable)
- Master’s degree in a relevant discipline
- Bilingualism (French and English)
- Ability to use quantitative data analysis software
- Experience working with Long-term care residents and their family members
- Experience in the home care/community settings
