REPORTS TO: Front of House Manager

**GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION AND PURPOSE**

The Lead Bartender is responsible for overseeing bar inventories, ordering supplies, and overseeing the overall day-to-day operation of liquor service at Langford Lanes with a focus on cleanliness, exceptional customer service and responsible beverage service. The Lead Bartender is responsible for ensuring all Front of House staff are trained in responsible liquor service; that they exhibit proper food safety and that they understand health and liquor service standards. This role requires availability during our peak business days, which is typically Thursday-Sunday evening shifts. Schedules may change to accommodate the changing needs of the business, but this availability is required of the role.

**TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**

  • Assist with updates to drink menus and specials
  • Train Front of House staff including drink preparation, food safety, health standards, customer service, liquor control, and licensing standards.
  • Provide supervision to the serving and bar staff when the Front of House Manager is away.
  • Review cash outs and ensure that they are correct at the end of the night
  • Oversee inventories, ordering, and rotation of stock in coordination with department managers
  • Following all Health and Safety procedures and leading by example
  • Support Front of House Management team with enforcing policies to ensure strong internal control, coaching and correcting staff in the moment
  • Maintain a high level of sanitation in all liquor service areas, using daily checklists to document completion of tasks
  • Ensure that bar equipment is cared for in such a way as to maximize useful life
  • Working with Events Coordinator on special functions
  • Bartending including cash handling

**WORKING CONDITIONS**

Work is performed primarily in the Langford Lanes lounge although some office work will be required. Hours may vary; days, **evenings and weekends are required for this role**. Heavy lifting may be required up to 50 lbs when receiving orders or stocking different areas. Work in a fast paced environment; repetitive tasks and standing for hours at a time. Job hazards may include slips, and cuts, but injuries are seldom serious.
