**About the job**: As a problem-solver and team player, you will:

- Develop and conduct research projects to support the tax policy development process
- Mobilize your research and analytical skills to provide expert quantitative and qualitative advice
- Provide detailed analysis to inform the development of policy options and prepare reports on findings
- Brief your Manager, Director and Assistant Deputy Minister on specific policy issues, and provide technical support at senior management meetings
- Work closely with others to prepare briefing materials that present research, analysis, policy and legislative design options and recommendations

**What you bring to the team**:
**Technical Expertise**:

- You have knowledge of taxation, economics, law, accounting or a related discipline to taxation policy and the policy development process
- You have knowledge of program and policy development principles, government decision-making and legislative processes

**Analytical and Research Skills**:

- You have demonstrated knowledge of research and economic/statistical analysis principles and techniques
- You can conduct complex analyses, identify options, make strategic recommendations and prepare comprehensive presentations/briefings
- You demonstrate the ability to conduct quantitative and qualitative analyses to evaluate findings and present research analysis

**Communication and Interpersonal Skills**:

- You have excellent oral/written communication and presentation skills to prepare and present materials on complex, technical and sensitive issues, quickly and accurately
- You can nurture relationships with partner ministries and other organizations

**Leadership and Project Management Skills**:

- You can lead or participate in projects on an inter-branch, inter-division, inter-ministerial and inter-government basis
- You can effectively complete project deliverables from initial concept through completion

**Computer Proficiency**:

- You can manipulate and extract information from database tools
