Biomed Recovery & Disposal Ltd. is hiring for the position of **Process Management/Safety Officer**to work as an integral member of our team at our main operations in Aberdeen SK.

As the **Process Management/Safety Officer,**you will work closely with Biomed management and the Human Resources Officer to develop, maintain, and implement company safety policies and procedures and analyze Biomed processes to reduce inefficiencies, waste, and damage to company resources. Reporting directly to the **General Manager, Assistant General Manager,**and **CEO,**you will play an integral role in ensuring the safety of Biomed staff, the general public, and the security of Biomed equipment, facilities, and waste management processes.

As the **Process Management/Safety Officer,**you will be responsible for performing the following job duties to the highest standards:
Safety Officer duties:

- Oversee corporate personal protective equipment (PPE) policies, procedures, and training to protect the health and safety of our employees
- Implement initial employee training and oversee ongoing employee training and recertification in accordance with Occupational Health and Safety standards and requirements
- Identify, assess, and manage potential hazards before they lead to accidents or injuries to ensure proactive hazard management throughout the entire organization
- Work closely with the Human Resources Officer and Biomed management to develop, maintain, and implement all company safety policies and emergency response plans/procedures
- Work closely with the Human Resources Officer and Biomed management to supervise, document, and enforce employee safety compliance in regard to adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety policies

Process Management duties:

- Ensure all workstations, job duties, and positions are defined and outlined within Biomed's SOPs; maintain a registry of all SOPs and adjust and/or develop SOPs as necessary
- Oversee the training of all Biomed employees necessary for their job position; analyze training needs and requirements on an ongoing basis
- Conduct research related to process management to ensure the efficiency of Biomed operations, with employee safety and wellbeing at the forefront
- Analyze, implement, document, and communicate minimum expectations for each workstation
- Work closely with Biomed management and other departments to ensure that Biomed processes, procedures, and communications are the most efficient and productive possible

**Requirements**:

- Experience, training, and/or knowledge of federal and provincial Occupational Health and Safety regulations
- Commitment to high safety and environmental standards
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to use MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.)
- At least one year of either process/operations management or safety-related work experience

The **Process Management/Safety Officer**is expected to spend the first 2-3 weeks of their employment working on each station in the plant in order to learn the intricacies of each Biomed process.

Wage reflects education, skills, and experience.

Biomed operates between the hours of 8:00am to 4:30pm, Monday through Friday. The **Process Management/Safety Officer**is expected to work these hours, amounting to 40 hours per week. Evenings and weekends are not required of this position but may be necessary in extenuating circumstances.
