**Position**: Junior Financial Planning Analyst
**Job Type**: Full Time

**Location**:Vaughan, Ontario
**Purpose**:
Responsible for providing updates to daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly reports (60 - 75% of the time). This position supports the budgeting, forecasting, management reporting and decision support at UNFI Canada. The role will require working cross-functionally across all levels of the organization to provide timely and relevant information to business stakeholders. This position also supports and provides assistance to process improvement projects.
**Responsibilities**:
- Responsible for weekly, monthly and quarterly reporting and updates to management team. Assists in the development of new reports; responsible for complex reporting processes on key functional KPI's. Owns communication and analysis associated with reporting efforts.
- Performs trend and variance analyses; incorporates data from different areas and synthesizes. Findings incorporate cross functional impacts, trends, and industry news.
- Articulates impact of analysis, modeling, business decision support on key financial measures (e.g., gross profit, operating margin, days on hand, days sales outstanding, etc.)
- Provides support to the annual budgeting and periodic forecasting of the assigned business area including variance analyses and sensitivity testing.
- Partners cross-functionally with the Regional Sales and Operations teams.
- Assists with audits conducted in support of contractual requirements.
- Creates reports and other tools for analyzing trends of various customer types, pricing, margin, deductions and internal processes. Recommends solutions and takes action to address issues found.
- Develops and maintains user documentation for system and operational processes and programs. Serves as a reference resource for the user community, especially as it relates to pricing and margin.
- Participates in the design of and User Acceptance Testing for Business Analysis Service Requests worked on by the IT department.
- Suggests and participates in continuous improvement opportunities.
- Provides backup support for functions within the department.
- Interacts with other departments to address issues, requests and questions.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
**Qualifications**:
**Education/Certification**:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance or equivalent required
- CPA or CFA designation preferred
**Required Knowledge**:
- Advanced knowledge/proficiency in Microsoft Excel
**Experience**:
- 1 - 2 years’ experience in management reporting, decision support, budgeting, and forecasting preferred
- Demonstrated success in identifying areas for business improvement
