**Poultry Farm Supervisor**
**Term**:Permanent-Full Time
**Location**:Abbotsford
**Reports to**:General Manager
**Shift/Time**:Weekdays and rotation on the weekends (Occasional weekends)
**Salary**:$55,000
**Role**
We are seeking 1 Farm Supervisor with a keen interest in farming and animal well being to to manage our broiler chicken farm.

**Primary Duties & Responsibilities**:
As a supervisor, you will run a two barn broiler farm. Some of the farming skills required are:
Provide birds with excellent care. This includes following prescribed feeding and lighting programs, ensuring clean water and fresh air are provided, handling birds properly, and ensuring the premises are clean. Working with Maximus computer system.
Safely use farm equipment and troubleshoot maintenance requirements:
- Maintain the interior and exterior of the barns, and equipment as well as set up barns for flock placements.
- Maintain existing farm practices to meet internal and external audit standards
- Help identify potential flock issues and act in a preventative manner using observation and farm data. Work with the senior farm manager towards continuous improvement.
- Begin to track costs and learn about the financial management of the farm.
Farm Supervisors work full-time, (average of 180 hours/month). They are included in the rotating weekend schedule as well as the on-call after-hour schedule to oversee urgent farm activities.

- Proficient communication skills - written and oral
- Able to work independently with mínimal supervision as well as part of a team
- Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities and work situations
- Able to perform physical tasks that require strength, coordination, and dexterity. Must be able to lift 10-25 lbs.
- Comfortable around farm animals. Strong interest in farming and animal wellbeing
- Basic MS Office literacy
- Valid driver’s license
- English is essential
- Mechanical aptitude is an asset
**Work Experience and Education Requirements**:
- At least 1 year of previous experience on a poultry farm (can include part time or summer employment during high school and post secondary)
- Bachelor’s degree, college degree in a technical field, or equivalent experience is highly desired.
