**Dispatcher**

Diversified Transportation is currently looking for a full-time Dispatcher for our Fort McMurray operation based at Kearl Lake site. The Dispatcher will be responsible for assigning and dispatching operators to fleet units and routes. The incumbent will monitor and respond to operators on the two-way radio, coordinate with the Operations Center Team and Supervisors, ensuring that Diversified meets its safety and on-time performance targets. The Dispatcher documents the day’s events. **This is a camp-based position with fly in/out options from both Calgary and Edmonton.**

**Primary Responsibilities**:

- Manage the daily dispatching of operators to fleet units
- Monitor and immediately respond to route, fleet and operator issues making sure service delivery requirements are met; and advising on company safety policies and procedures
- Process and transmit information and instruction to co-ordinate the activities of operators, supervisors, and fleet units using a variety of computer-aided communications and dispatching equipment
- Monitor phones and assist Base Controllers with providing information to customers/passengers and other DTL employees
- Work independently to expediently resolve customer/passenger issues
- Any other duties as directed as assigned by the Duty Manager or Account Manager, or their designate

**Desired Qualifications & Experience**:

- 1-2 years in logistics and/or transportation dispatch preferred
- 1-2 years in a customer service role preferred
- Certificate or Diploma in Office Administration or related field preferred
- General knowledge of Fort McMurray and Kearl Lake site is considered an asset
- Experience working in a unionized culturally diverse environment is considered an asset
- Possess excellent oral and written communication skills
- Possess clear criminal record, a minimum of a Class 5 driver’s license and a clean driver’s abstract
- Must have ability to problem solve in a hectic work environment and display a high level of decisiveness while displaying significant use of memory
