Benefits Coordinator

Reporting to the Senior Manager Total Rewards, the Benefits Coordinator is responsible for the administration of Benefits, Pensions and RRSP Plans for all employees and assigned homes.

This position will be located at our Head Office in Markham, Ontario and will have flexibility for both remote and in-office work based on our hybrid work model

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepares Insurance carrier invoices for payment and processes cheque requests through the system for payment.
- Reconciles carrier billings and/or payment of employee benefits coverage as reported by the payroll system.
- Forwards cheques and reports to the carriers.
- Updates employee Benefit changes in the Infinium / Workday.
- Verifies employee benefit enrolments, changes and terminations (on an ad hoc basis) in the Human Resources/Payroll System for staff in accordance with company policy, collective agreement(s) and government requirements.
- Coordinates claims and Benefits issues with office managers, insurance carriers and Third-Party Administrator (TPA).
- Updates benefit arrears in Infinium system / Workday, as required.
- Processes enrollments, changes, terminations for assigned RRSP and Pension plans.
- Processes and responds to questions related to T4 from benefits perspective including but not limited to fringe benefits balancing, calculation of pension plan adjustments
- Works on various projects such as CBA changes and implementations, offboarding / onboarding because of a M&A activity
- Implement changes within Infinium and / or Workday if needed
- Assists in process documentation

QUALIFICATIONS
- Community college certificate desired
- Excellent Working knowledge of Excel
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
- Experience with Infinium / Workday an asset
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work well under pressure
- Ability to provide excellent customer service
- Team player
