**Summary**
The Impact North Shore Settlement Workers in Schools (SWIS) program and the Community Innovation & Engagement Department are seeking two dynamic Youth Equity Workers who will be responsible for organizing and facilitating workshops and youth activities focused on diversity, equity, and inclusion. This role also could consist of: providing one-to-one information, support and referrals to eligible im/migrant youth in School Districts 44 and 45 (8-12 yrs. and 13-18 yrs.); engagement to strengthen youth support networks; and related outreach, marketing and community engagement. The Youth Equity Worker must have a strong understanding of diversity, equity and inclusion, and an ability to engage in discussion on associated topics. Also, important to have is experience in facilitation and ability to relate to youths, comfortable leading groups, and knowledge of the barriers encountered by youth of diverse backgrounds.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Develops and conducts youth workshops and activities on leadership, equity, diversity and inclusion, as per funding deliverables; and or plan and deliver activities to engage youth support networks
- Develops partnerships with school staff and administration, and/or other community partners to effectively connect with new immigrant students
- Keeps informed of current resources, trends, needs, changes, and service gaps in the general community and specific client communities
- Organizes youth programming, including training and supervising short-term contracted youth facilitators
- Assesses youth needs, strengths and assets and provides referrals to community resources
- Keeps informed of programs, services and community resources available to youth on the North Shore
- Provides basic information or referrals for mental health and trauma support, as needed
- Ensures the client has access to necessary service support, including school district resources
- Implements evaluation of group activities and participates in service quality improvement activities
- Informs SWIS Manager or Director of Community Innovation of any significant concerns/client issues promptly
- Collaborates with community partners and schools to increase awareness of emerging youth needs
- Ensures all required service data is correctly entered into Impact North Shore and government databases
- Swiftly responds to queries regarding service data quality
- Ensures all necessary administrative tasks related to service are completed, ensuring all privacy and confidentiality requirements are met
- Performs all administrative tasks, as needed
- Performs other duties as assigned by the SWIS Manager or Director of Community Innovation

**Qualifications**
**Minimum Qualifications**
- 2 years of experience in a direct client service role, preferably with im/migrants and an understanding of the im/migrant and refugee experience, and settlement-integration stages/process
- Bachelor's degree in Community Development, Humanities, or Counselling or High School completion with a diploma or certificate in Community Development, Humanities, or Counselling and/or relevant experience
- Knowledge of Canadian legal, political, cultural, employment, educational, and economic systems
- Knowledge of general and culturally-specific community resources and services on the North Shore
- Familiarity with immigrant youth barriers, diversity, issues related to discrimination, harassment and racism, and youth-related community resources and supports
