**About the role**:
Delta North Geomatics has opportunities for Surveyor Assistants to join our team. Reporting to the manager or supervisor, you will work in the field to complete projects in an accurate, timely, and efficient manner.

The ability to travel and work out of town is required.

**Responsibilities**:

- Take direction from manager/supervisor to understand the following: project objectives, goals, schedules and time frames
- Assists in the completion of field surveys
- Operates survey equipment with supervision from crew chief (opportunity for on-the-job training)
- Performs detailed map/plan interpretation with respect to survey assignment
- Completes survey note keeping, data submission & survey sketches
- Cleans and maintains survey equipment, tools & vehicles
- Keeps the crew chief and supervisor informed as to progress and problems
- Performs all field employee health and safety duties as identified in the company’s HSE program
- Completes field surveying tasks for projects as needed

**Requirements**:

- Physically fit, able to lift heavy equipment, willing to work in various environmental conditions with varied terrain, able to work in wildlife populated areas, and willing to work in remote areas for extended periods and varied hours.
- Valid class 5 driver’s license required.
- Good written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, good attendance, sound judgment skills, and general computer knowledge.
- Preference given to applicants with a two-year technical diploma in Geomatics or civil engineering or an equivalent combination of education and experience but not required.

**Shift**:
14 days on 7 days off
12 hours per day typical

**Location**:
Immediately hiring for Fort McMurray and surrounding area.

Living out allowance or camp accommodations will be provided.
