Undergraduate Medicine is one of ten programs within the Education Portfolio in the Dean’s Office at the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry. The Undergraduate Medical Education (UME) program is a four-year program which qualifies students for the MD degree. The UME Program coordinates all aspects of the MD program and the MD curriculum is delivered across multiple communities in South Western Ontario, including the city of Windsor. The UME Program strives to deliver quality education and service by ensuring an open and friendly environment for faculty, staff and students exists; and, upholds a team philosophy, sharing and collaborating with staff throughout the Dean's Office and the Schulich Windsor Program. **Responsibilities**: The Program Evaluation and Assessment Specialist, Undergraduate Medical Education (UME), facilitates continuous quality improvement within the four-year UME MD program. The role leads in the evaluation of the program’s curriculum, assessing the implementation and outcomes of programs, developing and managing processes for best utilizing data and core metrics to inform evidence-based decision-making. The role leads the development of the Assessment blueprint and collaborates with the Academy of Educators and Faculty Assessment Lead to ensure the requirements, and objectives of the MD program are appropriately assessed, and supports the development of learner remediation plans and implementation. The role is accountable for the planning, initiation, execution, research design methods, and deliverables of core and special projects that are closely aligned with the strategic mission and goals of the department and the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry to meet the ongoing needs and requirements of the MD program. **Qualifications**: **Education**: - Master’s Degree in Social Sciences, Education, or relevant field - PhD, Professional Designation preferred **Experience**: - 5 years’ experience in a University or clinical education setting - Experience with process, project and change management methodologies, metrics development, continuous quality improvement - Experience with data management, data analytics, and statistics - Project management experience in the health and education sectors - Experience with Learner Assessment methodologies - 7 years’ experience in a University or clinical education setting is preferred - Proven track record and experience with project and data management, program evaluation and learner assessment methodologies preferred - Experience designing and implementing data analytics strategies is preferred Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: - Proven ability to build relationships with executive stakeholders, operate, collaborate, and influence at all levels - Knowledge of delivery of curriculum within a distributed medical education model - Knowledge of consolidation, synthesizing, and integrating data sets - Knowledge of quality management processes, including Accreditation standards and processes - Project Management methodologies and best practices - Proven ability in translating business needs to functional requirements - Knowledge of program evaluation and learner assessment best practices and methodologies. - Ability to work with a learning management system - Ability to process information with high levels of accuracy - Ability to plan, design, and implement new projects and processes while remaining cognizant of resource (financial, human) constraints - Well defined sense of diplomacy, including proven ability to skilfully facilitate meetings and work projects, problem solve, negotiate, and resolve conflict. - Strong business acumen with an ability to influence, motivate and inspire with or without formal authority - Critical thinking and discernment to assess and scope areas for improvement and an ability to offer creative solutions - Professional quality written and verbal communication skills with a high level of detail - Commitment to professional development and continual improvement of skills - In-depth understanding of Western and Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry
