Site Superintendent

S.E.M. Construction is a general contractor based out of London, Ontario that specializes in institutional, commercial and industrial construction, as well as residential apartment buildings. They are Vendors of

Role: Site Superintendent (Full Time)
Experience: 5+ years (in current role)

Education: Advanced Diploma in related coursework (CMY, ATY, etc.)

Certification: Gold Seal (preferred)
- Essential Functions / Major Responsibilities of Site Superintendent:

- Lead and develop 2 & 4 week look ahead schedules as required that are based on the overall project schedule.
- Lead the project site team in achieving project milestones on time and in an organized and coordinated manner.
- Guide and provide supervision to self perform manpower during work activities and ensure material is available and production is steady.
- Review, understand and control site related costs with the project team and work in the confines of a budget.
- Perform quality control duties and responsibilities regarding the work being performed.
- Communicate with Project Team regarding RFI’s, SI’s, Material Submittals & Schedule.
- Coordinate required inspections with local jurisdictions.
- Maintain daily log of activities on the jobsite.
- Walk all units on project daily to monitor activities and assist in future planning.
- Preside over weekly subcontractor meetings designed to coordinate the work.
- Perform job progress and completion of punch list identification and completion.

Secondary Functions:
1. Gather project material submittals and maintain records of approvals at the jobsite.
2. Identify areas of work that are outside of subcontracted scope.
3. Opening the jobsite at beginning of the day and securing the jobsite at the end of the day.

Key Competencies:
1. Provide direction to and resolve problems amongst 30+ subcontractors and vendors.
2. Ability to identify deficient work and provide resolution.
