Hotel Housekeeper

**FULL TIME HOUSEKEEPER**

The Ayrshire Hotel is seeking to grow our in-house team of positive, friendly, detail and people-oriented individuals who share our passion for creating warm, welcoming and gorgeous spaces that will ensure that our guests create beautiful lasting memories during their stay in the Village of Elora.

Reporting to the Housekeeping Manager, the essential responsibility of this role is to maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of the facilities in accordance with our established standards and procedures to contribute to an overall outstanding guest experience each and every stay.

**JOB TYPE**:
Full Time / 40hrs per week: $40,000 annual salary
- Must be able to work weekends and holidays as needed

**REQUIREMENTS**:

- Excellent customer service, verbal and written communication skills
- Housekeeping/cleaning and/or hospitality experience an asset
- Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
- Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
- Highly responsible & reliable
- Detail oriented
- Self-motivated, with the ability to work under pressure
- Ability to work efficiently while multi-tasking and improvise when necessary
- Work well both independently and in a team environment with minimum supervision
- Energetic and enjoy physical labour
- Must be eligible to work in Canada
- Must have reliable transportation to and front work

**JOB RESPONSIBILITIES**:
Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

- Clean and sanitize guestrooms and hotel common spaces in a timely and organized manner according to hotel procedures and brand standards, including: dusting, making beds, soiled linen/garbage removal from rooms, vacuuming, bathroom cleaning and disinfecting, cleaning furniture, washing dishware, inside window cleaning and replenishing rooms with supplies
- Consistently offer welcoming, friendly and warm customer service to guests
- Maintain room attendant cart, replenish any items as required
- Communicate any specific guest requests or concerns with the Housekeeping Manager
- Participate in deep cleaning of rooms as required
- Maintaining proper usage of cleaning supplies and equipment
- Stock, organize and inventory linen closet
- Wash/dry/fold laundry
- Garden maintenance
- Report and store items left behind by guests
- Report and document any maintenance issues or damage to any common areas, suites and rooms
- Perform other related duties and follow hotel standards as assigned

**PHYSICAL ASPECTS OF THE POSITION (INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO)**:

- Constant standing and walking throughout shift
- Frequent lifting and carrying up to 40 lbs
- Frequent kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting
- Occasional ascending or descending ladders and stairs

Pay: $40,000.00 per year
