RockHaven Children’s Services Inc. is a Treatment Foster Care agency looking for a highly skilled and qualified Children and Youth Counsellor to join our team.

RockHaven Treatment Foster Care (TFC) provides a safe, stable, and nurturing home environment for foster children who have emotional or behavioral needs. We are a family-based treatment program that allows the child/youth to experience healthy parent-to-child relationships in an environment that promotes growth and healing.

**Duties Include**:

- Support children/youth who may present with behavioural needs and challenges
- Completing daily logs on the youth’s progress and incident report writing
- Socialization
- Development and achievement of childhood milestones
- Life skills development
- Ability to carry out individual child/youth programming
- Day-to-day functioning of the home/light housekeeping duties
- Transportation of child/youth to access visits, appointments, etc.

**Qualifications/Skills**:

- Diploma in CYW/CYC/ECE/PSW/DSW or an equivalent Diploma or Degree
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Effective communication with your supervisor and co-workers
- Strong ability to build a supportive working relationship with staff, foster parents and youth

**Requirements to be met**:

- Current Broad Record Police Check/Non-Parent Custody Check
- Child Welfare Record Check
- Valid Class G driver’s licence
- Satisfactory Driver’s Abstract
- Reliable vehicle
- Proof of vehicle insurance with 2 million liability
- Valid CPR/First Aid, level C - considered an asset
- To be trained in NVCI upon successful hire

Part-time, 20 hours per week

**This position is located in Bowmanville.**
