Position: Mounter Assistant

Location: Sonoco Flexible Packaging - 1691 Matheson Blvd East, Mississauga, ON,

Reporting To: Pre-Production Manager

Purpose: To operate and run your own shift productively

Job Description: (Main Duties and Responsibilities) DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

- Select proper equipment and tools as per docket.
- De-Mount polymer plates from sleeves.
- Remove sticky back from sleeves
- Check plates upon demounting for damages and wear. Identify damages as noticed
- Responsible for recognizing when a plate(s) must be ordered, and relaying the information to: Lead Hand, Graphics Coordinator or Graphics Manager
- Filing plates in assigned tubes and understanding the importance of this task. - Maintain a plate inventory.
- Checking job kits once returned from press, ensuring all correct information is provided.
- Filing job kits in correct locations.
- Storing sleeves accurately in storage rack.
- Identifying damaged sleeves, and request replacements as necessary.
- Maintain sleeve inventory and making suggestion for improvements.
- Responsible for rubber roller storage area; Making sure area is 5S sustained at all times.
- Understand GMS and all of its coordinates.
- Assist with troubleshooting while job is in press.
- Inspect and document condition of plates
- Foresee and correct upcoming graphic and scheduling issues.
- Back-up Mounting department personnel in their absence (vacation coverage/sick days)
- Other duties as assigned
