Job Description:
The Department of Pediatrics at CHEO, University of Ottawa is recruiting a full-time locum Gastroenterologist within the Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition to fill a 6-month term with possible extension to 1 year.

The Department of Pediatrics is affiliated with CHEO, the CHEO Research Institute and the University of Ottawa. Together, we provide outstanding patient care, leading research, and quality pediatric medical education. The Department of Pediatrics provides health care to newborns, children and youth of the Ottawa area, as well as those from Eastern Ontario, Western Quebec, Nunavut and parts of Northern Ontario (population of approximately 1.8 million). The Department of Pediatrics has 18 distinct divisions, which includes Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition.

The Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition provides a comprehensive array of services and includes a dedicated Inflammatory Bowel Disease team and clinic. The Division provides specialty care in the fields of Pediatric Hepatology, Upper Gastrointestinal pathology, Pancreatology in addition to General gastroenterology services. The division has 6 full-time members and a multidisciplinary team of allied health professionals consisting of nurses, dietitians, and social workers. In addition, the Division is active in teaching at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

The clinical role includes inpatient and outpatient gastroenterology services as well as endoscopic procedures.
