**Job description**

We are hiring a Certified Level 1/ Level 2 Child care Educator with 2+ yrs experience in a licensed childcare facility. It is a full time position

**Start Date**: September 1, 2023

**Facility**: Discovery Daycare, serving the community for more than 25 years, is conveniently located in the Bonnie Doon area serving children 0 - 6 yr. olds.

**Required Qualifications**:

- Certified Level 2 Child care educator with 2+ years of experience
- Vulnerable sector Police clearance certificate
- Plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, safety and well-being of children
- 3+ years of experience in child care, and program planning
- Develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children
- Lead activities in literacy and numeracy, incorporating learning in the playground and neighborhood walks, providing opportunities to express creativity through the media of art, dramatic play, music and physical activity
- Assess the abilities, interests and needs of children and discuss progress or problems with parents and other staff members
- Observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioural problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians or supervisor
- Guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing and toilet habits
- Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children
- May supervise and coordinate activities of other early childhood educators and early childhood educator assistants.

**Job Types**: Full-time/ Part-time

**Salary**: $16.00 - $17.00 per hour + Top-up

**Job Types**: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: $16.00-$17.00 per hour
