**Public Affairs Associate Director**
- Are you passionate about shaping public policy and driving impactful change in health care? Novo Nordisk Canada is seeking a dynamic Public Affairs Associate Director to lead our advocacy efforts, influence legislative and regulatory initiatives, and champion the value of innovative life sciences.

**Position Description**
- As Public Affairs Associate Director, you’ll be at the forefront of Novo Nordisk’s mission to improve patient outcomes and advance the innovative biopharmaceutical industry. You’ll develop strategies to navigate complex legislative landscapes, build impactful relationships with government and stakeholders, and advocate for policies that put patients first.
- What you’ll do:

- Lead federal and provincial advocacy strategies to influence health care policy, with a focus on chronic disease, and communicate the value of innovative medicines.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Patient Access, Communications, Legal, Regulatory, and Medical Affairs) to drive policy initiatives.
- Oversee third-party government relations contractors and direct strategic lobbying efforts.
- Build relationships with key stakeholders, including political and government officials, health agencies, industry associations, and patient advocacy organizations.
- Draft policy statements, submissions, and presentations to influence public policy and brief internal leadership.
- Plan high-impact events to raise awareness of Novo Nordisk’s contributions to chronic disease and life sciences.
- Manage the Public Affairs budget with efficiency and accountability.

**Required Qualifications**
- You hold a Bachelor’s degree (post-graduate degree preferred).
- You bring 8+ years of experience in public affairs, advocacy, government relations, or equivalent governmental experience in a health-related portfolio.
- You have a deep understanding of healthcare, pharmaceutical, and biotechnology industry issues.
- You’re a skilled communicator and negotiator, able to advocate effectively to diverse stakeholders.
- You thrive under tight deadlines, with strong planning and leadership skills.

- The NNCI Public Affairs team is dedicated to advancing innovative policy solutions to defeat serious chronic diseases like diabetes and obesity. We work to educate and influence through collaboration with governments and other key stakeholders to improve equitable access to health care while ensuring the sustainability of our health care system.
