Ledcor is seeking a Systems Project Coordinator to join our growing Infrastructure division, supporting the delivery of Light Rail Transit (LRT) systems. This role focuses on coordinating specialized electrical and communications infrastructure—including signaling, traction power, overhead catenary, and communications systems. Essential Responsibilities:
- Implement and maintain Ledcor systems and procedures throughout the project lifecycle
- Coordinate the integration and execution of rail systems such as signaling, traction power, overhead catenary systems (OCS), and communications infrastructure, ensuring alignment with design specifications and interface requirements
- Oversee documentation processes, including RFIs (Requests for Information), submittals, redlines, and technical evaluations
- Assist in the development of electrical installation work packages (EIWP) and ensure constraints are removed for timely project execution
- Support the Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) program through worksite inspections, safety observations, and participation in safety meetings
- Assist with subcontract management, including tendering, technical evaluations, contract awards, progress claims, and invoice reviews
- Monitor and track project schedules and milestones, providing reports and updates to project managers and stakeholders
- Coordinate procurement activities, including material and equipment acquisition, purchase requisitions, and vendor management
- Support quality assurance and commissioning efforts, ensuring electrical systems meet project requirements and operational standards
- Manage change requests and contract modifications, ensuring compliance with contractual timeframes and financial controls
- Assist with project closeout activities, including documentation turnover and demobilization
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of experience in systems or electrical coordination, preferably in transit, utilities, or infrastructure projects
- Degree, diploma, or certification in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Technology, or a related field; Professional Engineering (P.Eng.), Technologist (CET), or Journeyperson certification is an asset
- Knowledge of rail systems, signaling, traction power, and electrical infrastructure in transportation projects
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical drawings, schematics, and specifications
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office, scheduling software (Primavera), and document management systems (Bluebeam, Procore, or similar tools)
- Experience with construction planning, change management, RFIs, and contract administration
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with internal teams, subcontractors, and clients
- Ability to problem-solve, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple responsibilities effectively
- Experience working with or coordinating specialized systems such as signaling, SCADA, power distribution, or structured cabling is considered an asset
- Familiarity with interface management across multiple subcontractors or system vendors is a strong asset
