Kitchen Assistant

**Overview**

**Duties**
- Assist the Head Chef in planning and directing food preparation and cooking activities.
- Ensure that all food is prepared according to established recipes and standards for quality and presentation.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, adhering to food safety regulations.
- Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and assist with ordering as needed.
- Collaborate with Executive Director, Program Coordinator and Volunteer staff to ensure timely service and guest satisfaction.
- Help create menus, specials, and seasonal offerings.

**Skills**
- Proficient in food preparation techniques with a strong understanding of culinary principles.
- Knowledge of Kosher food services and Jewish customs is an asset.
- Demonstrated team management abilities, fostering a collaborative kitchen environment.
- Knowledge of food handling practices and safety regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
- Excellent communication skills to interact with both staff and volunteers.
- Experience in hospitality settings, enhancing the overall dining experience for guests.
- A commitment to maintaining high standards of food quality and presentation.

Must be available early weekday mornings.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $16.00-$18.00 per hour
