Are you an enthusiastic and motivated mechanic? If so, we have an exciting opportunity in our Vehicle and Equipment Branch in our Fleet and Facility Management department where you can enjoy being home with your family and friends every night

**Responsibilities**:

- Perform all maintenance, service and repair work on all vehicles and equipment used within Strathcona County
- Capable of working independently and with limited immediate supervision
- Submit detailed documentation upon completion of vehicle, equipment and bus repairs
- Complete all assigned work within assigned time standards

**Qualifications and Skills**
- Licensed Journeyperson and/or Red Seal Heavy Duty On-Road and Off-Road Mechanic/Heavy Equipment Technician is preferred or registered apprentice
- Experience working on various types of on-road and off-road equipment
- Basic computer experience
- Thorough knowledge and experience working on various types of on-road and off-road equipment and related equipment repair practices, procedures and preventative maintenance requirements
- Knowledge of current electronic diagnostic programs for chassis and body systems
- Ability to work with a large group and train apprentices with limited supervision
- Ability to perform to written or oral instructions
- Knowledge and experience with working in a Fleet Management Program
- Automotive experience an asset

**Conditions of Employment**
- Submission of a Satisfactory Criminal Record Check
- Valid Alberta Class 5 Driver’s licence and submission of a 5-year Driver’s Abstract with less than 7 demerits
- Valid Class 3 Driver’s License with Q endorsement is preferred
- Ability to perform physical labour as part of the job duties and stand/walk for extended periods of time
- Ability to achieve Provincial Commercial Vehicle Inspection Program (CVIP) status
- Ability to work a variety of shifts and overtime may be required
- Ability to be on-call (1 week per rotation)
