**_Veterinary Technician / RVT_**

We are a small animal practice located in Barrhaven looking for a positive, outgoing, and enthusiastic veterinary technician to add to our team.

This position is full-time. Applicant must have flexible availability and be willing to work evenings and Saturdays.

Applicants will be working in all areas of the clinic.

**Job responsibilities include but are not limited to**:

- Providing excellent customer service to our clients both in person and over the phone
- Compassionate and competent patient care, handling, and restraint.
- Collecting, preparing, and running laboratory samples
- Assisting in radiography and surgery as appropriate to level of training and experience
- Assisting DVM in appointments
- General housekeeping duties
- Providing general assistance to the DVM

**Essential Skills and Qualifications**
- Clinic environment experience is considered an asset.
- Must be comfortable working with and handling large dogs and fractious cats.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills with a positive attitude.
- Demonstrated organizational and time management skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision and as part of a team.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Able to maintain composure in stressful situations.
- Ability to adhere to professional ethics and confidentiality.
- Experience with Avimark is considered an asset.
