Associate Data Scientist

OceanSync is expanding, and we are looking for an associate data scientist. You will help transform our data into tangible business value by analyzing the information, communicating outcomes and collaborating on product development with the Oceansync team.

**Outcomes**
**The Data**
We are collecting one of the world's most enormous weather datasets from the world's oceans. We need help making it clean and useable.
**The Story**
Once we have our hands around the data, we need to determine what it tells us and how best to communicate that to our clients. It could be a data feed to a government numerical model for forecasts or an ocean fleet for performance evaluations.
**The Future**
If we know the past and the present, can we predict the future? We think so and will need your help identifying valuable foresight data to share with our team and customers.
**Role Required Competencies**
**Open mind.**
Ability to look at things differently, debug, troubleshoot, design and implement solutions to complex technical issues. Implement and validate predictive and prescriptive models, and create and maintain statistical models focusing on big data.
**Technical skills**
Strong technical and analytical abilities. A knack for driving impact and growth, and experience with programming/scripting in a language such as Java or Python. Write programs to cleanse and integrate data efficiently and efficiently.
**Communication**
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Communicate with internal and external clients to understand and define business needs and appropriate modelling techniques to provide analytical solutions.
**Education**
A Computer Science, Data Science, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Cognitive Science, Artificial Intelligence, Business Intelligence, Operations Research, and Engineering

**Salary**: $75,405.00-$105,527.00 per year
