**Position Summary**:The Manager - Special Projects will undertake a variety of administrative and program management tasks. The incumbent will assist with planning and organizing programs, as well as support operational activities. A key goal of this position is to develop, plan, organize, and implement an agency wide volunteer framework, especially within our core trauma-informed programs. The role will also have responsibilities and duties related to our service waitlist which will include connecting with and supporting clients who are waiting for service.

**Primary Responsibilities**:
Project Development, Evaluation and Management

Volunteer Program:

- Evaluates agency activities to assess for the appropriate use of volunteers to support our key programs, events, initiatives, and partnerships.
- Develops and maintains current standard operating procedures related to the volunteer program, including volunteer job descriptions, training, and supervision.
- Organizes, coordinates, and assists with the recruitment of volunteers for the organization and develops a network of volunteers available to support our programs, events and initiatives, and partnerships.
- Provides ongoing project management in support of the organizations’ program restructuring and implementation of volunteers through collaboration of key team members.
- Maintains statistical records and activity reports on volunteer participation in community.

Service and Program Support:

- Works in conjunction with the Program Supervisor to develop and maintain a current standard operating procedure for waitlist management within the programs.
- Researches, develops, and implements a best practise model for managing a program waitlist.
- Collaborates and leads team in program waitlist organizing, coordinating, and restructuring.
- Provides waitlist support and connects with clients on the waitlist.
- Development and leadership of the creation of psychoeducational groups and expand educational workshops for internal and external stakeholders. This may include writing, developing, session plans etc. for workshops/groups for youth and/or caregivers.

Program Evaluation:

- Collaborates with program staff and leadership in the planning and evaluation of key programs.
- Develops and reviews program logic models, as needed.
- Analyzes needs and develops assessment tools.
- Develops and implements educational activities on program evaluation, as needed.
- Evaluates programs for efficiency, processes, outcomes and effectiveness.
- Makes recommendations based on evaluations and needs assessments on program improvements.

Leadership and Supervision:

- Provides ongoing management and support to match skills, experiences, and expectations of volunteers to available opportunities to ensure successful outcomes.
- Creates tools, resources, to implement volunteer orientation and training.
- Develops and implements a volunteer recognition program and newsletter.
- Supports and manages the CWP program waitlist - providing guidance, coaching, training and other administrative duties to support the CWP team.
- Directs the development and implementation of psychoeducational groups.
- Develops and implements a waitlist model that provides responsive services and supports within our CWP program.
- Works with program staff and leadership members to align work to new waitlist model.
- Embraces and actively promotes an inclusive and equitable work environment.

Child Witness Centre Agency Support:

- Demonstrates leadership as a member of the management team.
- Provides leadership in the area of Health and Safety, to ensure the safety of clients, staff and volunteers.
- Drives change and implements new projects across the agency.
- All employees are expected to support and champion the Mission, Vision and Values of the organization.

**Qualifications**:

- A Master of Social Work from an accredited university. May consider a BSW with related experience in program development and/or volunteer management.
- Minimum of 3 years direct leadership experience in the non-profit sector, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Satisfactory Vulnerable Persons Check and a Family and Children Services Check.
- Valid driver’s licence with a minimum $2m liability coverage and access to vehicle to travel.

**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**:

- Demonstrated leadership and team building skills, including the ability to motivate staff and volunteers.
- Strong understanding of the principles and best practises of volunteer recruitment and management.
- Excellent project management and problem solving skills.
- Proven ability to be a self-starter and ability to work independently with mínimal supervision.
- Engaging and dynamic leader, with strong people management and communication skills.
- Computer proficiency using Microsoft Office software and experience with data management systems.
