Peterborough, Canada Hartrans Cartage Services Limited Full time

Hartrans is currently looking for a part-time G driver with cube-van or box-truck experience. This is daytime, casual, part-time work, to cover for vacation relief and during volume spikes. Ideal for someone looking to work on occasion. Work availability will vary from week to week and there is no guarantee of a minimum number of hours nor is there a requirement to accept every work opportunity.

Responsibilities include: loading your truck for safe transportation of freight, delivering and picking up freight, properly completing paperwork, and accurately counting and verifying freight during the loading/unloading process possibly using a barcode scanning device. Equipment may include cube van or cargo van.

Requirements include:

- G licence with 3+ years of verifiable cube-van or box-truck experience (letters from previous employers may be required).
- clean driver abstract and good references.
- ability to lift and carry 75 lbs and comfortable with physical work.
- Familiarity with manual transmission vehicles is an asset.
- LTL / Courier experience is an asset.
- Forklift Operator licence is an asset but not required.
- attention to detail when completing paperwork, verifying freight.
- calm, professional, courteous manner and excellent customer service skills.
- ability to get along with others, take direction, learn quickly and have a can-do attitude.
- punctual, dependable and present a professional image.
- ability and willingness to start as early as 6am when covering for early shifts.
- comfortable using smart phones and apps.
- legally allowed to work in Canada.
