The iGuide AutoCAD Technician will be responsible for the development or enhancement and preparation of drawings using generated DXF files from Planitar’s iGUIDE Portal. Floor Plans, Site Plans, Elevation Plans, Roof Plans and more will be created using DXF files in conjunction with the iGUIDE.
**Skills & Qualifications**:
- Diploma in Architectural Technology or Degree in Architecture from a recognized program.
- 3-5 years of experience of delivering high quality residential and commercial projects.
- Experience in the production of high-quality computer renderings and presentation materials.
- Architectural design software skills ex: Revit, 3DSs Max, Sketchup, Photoshop, and other architectural design software.
- Strong knowledge of the Ontario Building Code and other applicable laws. BCIN an asset.
- Must have excellent attention to detail and be able to produce high quality work as set forth by the company standards.
- Effective interpersonal skills through the management of professional teams and daily interactions with all levels of personnel, senior management, and contractors, consultants, and outside stakeholders.
- Excellent communicator with well-developed written communication skills and clear, persuasive, encouraging and motivating verbal skills.
- Able to conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Effectively able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
- Professional and detail-oriented.
- Able to communicate competently and effectively in the English language.
- Duties:
Work closely with an integrated team to make sure that upgraded DXF files correspond with the published iGUIDE.
- Sketch and develop design concepts and strategies for assigned projects.
- Prepare 2D and 3D presentations, renderings, and other materials to elegantly convey design ideas.
- Production of high-quality rendering and presentation materials.
- Participate in all stages of the project delivery and work with a number of construction professionals, including surveyors, engineers, consultants, stakeholders and others.
- Ensure all requested design work is completed in accordance with the project’s design specifications as outlined by the client.
- Understand and keep up to date with drafting conventions.
- Liaise with the Marketing and Sales Manager to lead the integrated designs to grow client services and business success.
- Liaise with project management dept. regarding the objectives, requirements, and budget of a project.
- Consult with Professional Consultants about the design environment
- Effectively communicate the project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.
- Plan, track and schedule project timelines and milestones, ensuring target dates are met.
- Maintain and ensure continuity between base plan and marketing libraries, and ensure all stakeholders are updated.
- Ensure all information and project design documents are distributed to the appropriate departments within the given timeline.
- **Additional Tasks**:
- Fulfill overtime requests by an iGUIDE Drafting Manager as required.
- Complete other tasks other than drafting floor plans such as AI annotations, marketing research, information gathering, cases studies, etc.
- **Training**:
- Training will be provided through Planitar Inc.’s learning management system, iGUIDE Academy. Here you will learn about and how to use Planitar Inc.’s proprietary drafting software “Draft” to develop and prepare floor plans.
- **Work Schedule**:
- Working any day of the week, Monday to Sunday.
- 8 or 10 hour working shifts.
- Expected to work from our new Waterloo facility 2-5 days per week.
- Ensure you clock into our scheduling software for every shift and report any missed punches, late punches or extra punches to an iGUIDE Drafting Manager.
- Ensure you are clocked in under the appropriate task each day.
- Contact a Draft Production Manager if you cannot commit to a scheduled shift (Eg. Emergency, family matters, personal matters, sickness).
- Give not less than 2 weeks notice for any requested days off.
**Salary**: $20.00-$23.00 per hour
