**Job Overview**

The Meat Counter Clerk is responsible for providing excellent customer service, maintaining the meat department’s cleanliness, and ensuring the proper handling and display of meat products. This role involves assisting customers with their meat selections, preparing special orders, and maintaining stock levels.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Customer Service**: Greet and assist customers with their meat selections, providing product knowledge and recommendations.
- **Product Preparation**: Cut, trim, and package meat products as needed. Prepare special orders based on customer requests.
- **Inventory Management**: Monitor stock levels, assist in inventory counts, and notify management of low stock or expired items.
- **Sanitation and Safety**: Maintain a clean and organized meat counter and adhere to all health and safety regulations, including proper food handling practices.
- **Sales Promotion**: Help with merchandising displays and promote sales of featured products.
- **Team Collaboration**: Work collaboratively with other team members to ensure efficient operation of the department.

**Qualifications**:

- Previous experience in a retail or food service environment preferred.
- Knowledge of meat products and safe handling practices.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and stand for long periods.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.

**Physical Requirements**:

- Ability to lift and carry heavy items (up to 50 lbs).
- Capable of standing, bending, and reaching for extended periods.

This position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about food preparation, enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, and have a keen interest in providing excellent service to customers.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $18.00-$21.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
