Foot Care Attendant

The Foot Care Attendant - is a professional who works within Island Foot Clinics a Podiatrist Office setting to provide foot care for clients. The Foot Care Attendant - is a client-centered professional, providing education and care with an emphasis on achieving optimal foot health for the patient.
**Responsibilities**
- Provide top quality foot assessments and superior foot care for clients. Care includes clipping and filing of nails, treating calluses, dry, cracked skin & thickened nails.
- Suggest and implement preventative care plans for foot care clients.
- Follow strict infection control guidelines in the care and cleaning of foot care instruments.
- Complete accurate documentation in health record concerning client conditions and treatments related to foot care.
- Educate clients and their families to achieve and maintain optimal foot health.
- Additional interest in other aspects of home and long-term care, including assistance with client needs assessments, in home client visits, health and wellness clinics, caregiver education, etc.
- Maintain a safe working environment.
- Participate in team meetings as scheduled.
- Assistance with other areas of care as required
**Qualifications**
- A Licensed Esthetician, or an individual with a valid Foot Care Certification
- Knowledge of conditions affecting foot health, including diabetes
