**Position Overview**:
**Reporting to a Regional Sales Manager, the Business Development Specialist**:
**Key Responsibilities**:
**Brand Strategy & Partner Collaboration**:
- Serve as the primary relationship lead for designated brand partners, ensuring alignment of sales objectives and strategic growth plans. Facilitate monthly Business Review Meetings to evaluate performance, identify opportunities, and establish actionable items.
- Drive cross-functional execution of all product innovation launches, collaborating closely with brands, marketing, and the sales team to ensure successful market introductions.
- Develop and implement tailored promotional strategies that align with annual marketing plans, supporting brand visibility and success within the Canadian retail landscape.
- Proactively identify gaps and resources needs for each brand, ensuring the availability of tools, materials, and support necessary to drive growth and performance.
- Track and analyze key performance metrics using internal systems (e.g., brand promotional tracker) to assess the impact and ROI of retailer marketing initiatives.
- Conduct trend, category, and competitive analysis to uncover emerging opportunities.
**Sales Enablement & Accountability**:
- Partner with the Sales team to ensure initiatives are effectively executed and aligned with distribution and sales growth objectives.
- Leverage performance data to monitor sales results, deliver insights and actionable recommendations to drive team effectiveness and brand success.
- Identify high-potential retailers and collaborate with sales reps to develop tailored off-shelf marketing strategies.
- Pinpoint distribution gaps within key retail accounts and initiate targeted plans to expand brand presence and maximize reach within our retail partners.
**Internal Communications**:
- Develop and distribute monthly brand summaries to keep cross-functional teams informed and engaged on key initiatives, updates, and brand highlights.
- Ensure the Sales team is fully equipped with timely, relevant, and comprehensive brand information to support effective selling and in-store execution.
- Oversee retailer brand budgets with a focus on strategic fund allocation supporting brand growth and program priorities.
- Work in close partnership with the Marketing team to maintain alignment with the master marketing budget, ensuring financial efficiency, transparency, and goal alignment.
**Forecasting & Operational Alignment**:
- Act as a communication bridge between the Sales and Purchasing teams to support accurate sales forecasting and proactive inventory planning.
- Promote transparency and collaboration across departments.
- Monitor inventory trends and initiate timely promotional strategies to mitigate aging stock and optimize product flow.
**Qualifications**:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Sales, Marketing, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in brand management, sales, and/or marketing either within the natural health product or CPG industry.
- Excellent communication, relationship-building, and presentation skills.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills, with a collaborative and proactive approach.
- Experience in cross-functional coordination and working with external brand partners is an asset.

**Pay Grade**: equivalent to Key Account Representative
