Merchandise Planner

Reporting to the Planning Manager, this **Planner** will partner with the category Buyer, to optimize sales and manage Urban Barn’s **Décor & Accents category** to drive growth and meet financial objectives for this category.

**What You’ll Do**:

- Develop annual budgets that meet divisional sales and gross margin goals
- Analyze weekly sales and performance results and adjust forecasts as required
- Ensure inventories by item and category are adjusted to trends
- Complete scheduled or ad hoc reports and analysis as required
- Prepare and present data to support category optimization decision-making
- Continuously seek opportunities to grow assigned categories
- Collaborate with the Buyer and Purchasing Assistant on promotion planning, reporting and analytics.
- Proactively identify potential problems or opportunities and develop solutions or mitigation plans.

**What You Bring**:

- 3 to 5 years of experience in Product Planning and/or Buying
- OTB (Open-to-buy) management experience
- Advanced Excel skills, with the ability to learn new software programs
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- A Bachelor’s degree in a related field is an asset
- Experience in categories related to Accents, Accessories, Apparel, or Furniture is preferred
- Organizational skills, excellent written and verbal communication, attention to detail, sound judgment, and multitasking abilities
- Ability to work independently; flexibility to adapt to change; and a sense of humor in a dynamic environment
