**ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY**
We seek a highly motivated, team-orientated individual to join our Ministry of Health team as a **Health Research and Evaluation Manager**.
**KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Create trusting relationships with health leaders and employees to teach the health system to respect and honour the unique needs, culture, and experience of the Métis.
- Liaise with staff and engage with internal and external stakeholders.
- Foster a practice of cooperative effort and collaborative problem-solving around issues related to improving the health and wellness of Métis people.
- Communicate complex information to a high-level audience using briefing notes, reports, and other deliverables.
- Monthly reporting of activities and meetings.
- Attending various engagement sessions with internal and external partners that may take place outside of regular work hours.
- Leads planning, research, evaluation, and outcome measurement of MNBC services and initiatives. Works collaboratively with program teams to assess, determine and/or define required information to satisfy specific business requirements.
- Works with existing and external data sources and develops new collection processes.
- Professionalism in communication, both written and verbal.
- The ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work with mínimal supervision.
- A commitment to collaborate with colleagues within MNBC to de-silo the organization.
- Designs a practical evaluation model that integrates monitoring, self-assessment, planning and evaluation of program or health services (process and outcome measures);
- Develops evaluation plans by reviewing evidence-based literature, identifying key stakeholders, developing logic models, identifying meaningful key performance indicators for structure, process and outcomes, developing the design and data collection methods, specifying data collection instruments, developing data analysis plans for both qualitative and quantitative data, recommending budget, resourcing and timelines for implementation.
- Serves as a consultant to MNBC colleagues and works in collaboration with other departments to make evidence-based recommendations regarding potential changes to programs, delivery of care and impacts on services and staff resources.
- Coordinates and/or conducts evaluation and research projects through methods such as reviewing the literature, designing methodology and tools, recruiting study participants, collecting, compiling, analyzing, interpreting and reporting data, using a blend of Indigenous and Western approaches as needed.
- Facilitates the development, implementation, and maintenance of an ongoing evaluation process for MNBC.
- Recruits, onboards and supervises program research staff as required.
- Participates in and advises on knowledge translation activities to ensure optimal spread and uptake of new knowledge arising from evaluation and research projects.
- Plans and conducts workshops and other training activities and supports capacity development for Indigenous health research.
- Represents MNBC on internal and external industry, provincial, and federal committees as required.
