The Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for the sourcing and recruitment of volunteers to optimize delivery of HHHS services, and thus fulfill our vision of optimizing health and wellbeing in Haliburton County. In the context of HHHS, “volunteers” include Spiritual Care practitioners as well as any other persons who voluntarily give of their time for the benefit of the organization.

The Volunteer Coordinator provides an orientation experience that aligns with HHHS’s mission, values, and vision and cultivates affiliation for volunteers. Working closely with HHHS Managers, the Volunteer Coordinator provides resources and tools to support volunteer management, as well as monitors quality control indicators and volunteer experiences to aide volunteer retention.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Secondary School Diploma. Certificate in Volunteer Management is considered an asset. Bachelor’s Degree is considered an asset.
- 3 - 5 years experience in Volunteer Coordination. Experience in a Health Care or other public sector employer is an asset.
- Demonstrated understanding of the dynamics of volunteerism and current trends related to same.
- Ontario Class “G” Driver’s license and access to a vehicle with no less than $1M. in liability insurance. Must be able to travel occasionally for business purposes.
- Strong interpersonal skills, inclusive of verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to listen, understand, respond, and persuade others when necessary. Able to effectively interact with diverse groups of stakeholders and the general public.
- Excellent organizational skills. Able to set priorities, demonstrate flexibility, and allocate time and resources effectively.
- Ability to work independently.Problem-solving abilities. Can identify root causes of issues, gather relevant information, generate possible solutions, and recommend solutions.
- Skilled in event planning and execution. Must be comfortable with public speaking. Able to present in public to audiences of up to 100 people.
- Able to effectively use typical office computer software.

Pay: $28.39 per hour
