The Clinical Lead, Facility Inspection Program (FIP) contributes to three areas of focus within the Facility Inspection Program (FIP):
1. Delivering Facility Inspection Programs as established by the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario (“RCDSO”) By-laws
2. Leading FIP program improvements and
3. Supporting the RCDSO’s operational projects
The FIP department administers the College’s Facility Inspection Programs, ensuring Ontario dentists provide safe and effective dental care that aligns with the College’s Standards of Practice.
Working closely with the Manager, FIP, and other members of the FIP team, you will collaborate with team members from all departments on initiatives that protect the public and promote compliance with the RCDSO’s Standards of Practice.
What can I expect to do in this role?
**Reporting to the Manager, FIP, you will**:
1. Support the delivery of Facility Inspection Programs as established by RCDSO By-laws, including:
- Complete inspections, record reviews, and practice visits, as required by the Facility Inspection Program (may require travel for site visits)
- Review and provide clinical direction on adverse event reports
- Train and mentor College inspectors
2. Lead FIP program improvements
- Develop practical tools and resources to support compliance with the College’s Standards of Practice
- Offer clinical guidance to the evolution of layered regulatory responses founded in the principles of ‘right touch regulation’
3. Support the RCDSO’s operational projects
- Provide clinical insight into current and emerging issues in dentistry
- Collaborate with colleagues in other departments to harmonize regulatory tools and outcomes
- Contribute to public facing communications on clinical issues and program requirements
4. General responsibilities
- Engage in the development and delivery of the FIP department’s annual workplan, including goals, timelines and deliverables
- Organize and lead quarterly sedation and CT working group meetings, and the annual in-person inspector meeting
- Develop and maintain documentation of workflows that enable consistent and transparent practice
- Ensure that departmental records are maintained as required
What skills and background do I need?
**The Clinical Lead requires**:
- Dental degree with current registration in good standing in Ontario
- Minimum five years’ clinical dental practice experience
- Required experience administering sedation and anesthesia and prescribing, ordering, taking, interpreting and reporting on dental CT (CBCT) scans in dental practice
- Ability to manage assignments in a high-volume environment while maintaining flexibility to adapt to evolving priorities
- Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision or direction
- Curiosity and demonstrated ability to collaborate to identify problems, understand underlying causes, propose and implement appropriate solutions, and communicate results
- Experience working in a data-driven environment preferred
- Experience in project management is an asset
- RCDSO is building its bilingual (French/English) capacity and excellent French language proficiency is an asset
Compensation and Total Rewards
- Base annual hiring salary from $76,720.67to $86,310.59 (pro-rated for the duration of the contract, and based on three days per week), commensurate with experience.
