Electro-mechanical Technician

**Job Summary**
Our technicians assemble, integrate, and troubleshoot complex electromechanical assemblies and motion systems, as well as track non-conformance with tracking assembly documents. They have a good understanding of technical drawings and schematics and can handle a variety of tools including soldering and crimping and detailed measurement.
The role requires working in a team and according to ISO-13485 and Huron’s quality management system standards.
**Responsibilities**:
- Build, test, and integrate electro-mechanical, motion control, and optical assemblies and systems
- Perform alignment of optical assemblies
- Repair or rework existing assemblies
- Prepare prototype, demonstration, and production systems Maintain production documentation including test data, NCRs (Non-Conformance
- reports), analyze, and advise on corrective actions
- Inspect incoming materials, including electronics, mechanical and optics
- Assist in developing and implementing new test instructions
- Help maintain documentation to support manufacturing changes, including test
- procedures, and assembly instructions
- Work in collaboration and support other departments, such as R&D projects
- Comply with the Huron Quality System processes applicable to the job function
- Occasional travel to service/install
- Other duties as assigned
**Qualifications**:
- Minimum of 2-years’ experience in high-tech assembly environment
- Diploma in Automation, Electronics, Electrical, Mechanical or Optical Technician/Technologist program or equivalent with some demonstrated experience
- Experience with assembly and troubleshooting of electro-mechanical systems
- Experience with optical subassemblies or mirrors and lenses would be considered an asset
- System assembly, integration, and quality control
- Reading diagrams, schematics, and work instructions
- Techniques used in hand tools including soldering, and crimping
- Experience working within a certified quality management system (QMS) to ISO 9001 or ISO 13485 standards and with regulated medical devices would be an asset
- A strong technical aptitude that includes an interest and ability to assemble complex precision electro-optical and opto-mechanical sub-assemblies
- Working knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) relevant manufacturing processes, tooling, fixtures, assemblies, and practices
- Physical fitness to lift and move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
- Attention to detail is critical
- Able to collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams across the organization
