Seasonal Associate

We are looking for a part time Seasonal/Garden Center Associate to join our team
This associate will maintain outstanding customer service, uphold our Mission and Core Values, help create the best customer experience possible, generate sales, merchandise product, and support the store management team. Seasonal sales associates are flexible as the products they sell constantly change. Associate may be working indoors, selling BBQ’s, mowers/trimmers, chainsaws, etc. or outside tending to garden good/supplies, etc.
**Responsibilities**:
- Work in compliance with laws and regulations, attend and complete all required health and safety training, report all accidents, and take every precaution reasonable to ensure personal safety and the safety of others.
- Provide superior customer service - this includes greeting customers, providing information, completing sales, stocking products and creating displays, learning about new products and attending training.
- Assess customer needs and provide expert advice on seasonal department products. Present and demonstrate the product highlighting its positive features and suggest complimentary products.
- Support the marketing of products in its department such as: display of merchandise, visual presentation and labelling.
- Ensure and participate in the maintenance of the seasonal department.
- Be aware of current promotions and flyers.
- Develop a basic knowledge of all the departments in the store.
- Answer phones in a polite and timely manner.
- Process payments made with cash, debit cards, credit cards and gift cards by accurately and efficiently operating the cash register while treating every customer fairly and with respect.
- Water, fertilize and take care of plant material.
- Problem solve customer questions and help troubleshoot gardening projects.
- Maintain a well-rounded understanding of products on hand and topics such as plant care, soil amendments, seed starting and lawn care.
- Perform other duties as required
